6 of the Most Highly Anticipated Films and TV Shows of 2016

6 of the Most Highly Anticipated Films and TV Shows of 2016 | www.weliveentertainment.com

It's a new year and you've already seen the best and worst 2015 had to offer at the theater. There are so many channels and outlets to find TV shows and movies these days you may get lost in the vastness of content. To save you some time, here's a list of the most anticipated movies and TV shows coming in 2016 that you should see.

Zoolander No. 2
The ridiculous yet witty Zoolander quickly became a cult classic after its release in 2001. The film promises to feature old favorites, Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald, while introducing new characters played by Kristen Wiig, Penelope Cruz, and Kanye West.

Preacher
This new show by AMC is also based on a comic, just like the channel’s fan favorite, The Walking Dead. It is being developed by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin, so it promises to be a darkly funny story about one man’s quest to find God. The visual aspects look like they will be interesting, and unconventional characters include an Irish vampire and a small town preacher.

Hail, Caesar!
This movie, directed and written by the Coen Brothers, is a comedy drama that is set during the golden era of Hollywood. It features George Clooney as Baird Whitlock, a famous Hollywood heartthrob who is kidnapped by thugs looking for a ransom. The talented cast will include Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johansson, Ralph Fiennes, Channing Tatum, and Frances McDormand.

Game of Thrones
The sixth season of Game of Thrones is eagerly being awaited by a legion of fans. This season will be the first to move beyond the books that the author has already published, so many people are hoping that the huge cliffhangers from the last season and the last book of the series will finally be answered. The quality of the show may have dipped slightly in the fifth season, but hopefully, it will be able to return to its former glory.

BoJack Horseman
A show about anthropomorphic animals living in Hollywood seems like it would be silly and goofy, but this Netflix original television show surpassed everyone’s expectations with its brutal wit, touching moments, and sharp insight.

Captain America: Civil War
Following the events of the first two wildly successful Avengers films, Captain America and Iron Man face off in a battle after disagreements over political regulations on superheros. The ensemble cast will include first glimpses at much-beloved superheroes, such as the Black Panther, who have never been in a major feature film before.

4 of the Best (And 3 of the Worst!) Films of 2015

4 of the Best (And 3 of the Worst!) Films of 2015 | weliveentertainment.com

2015 was a great year for film productions and acting performances. Here is a list of some of the best and worst movies from the past year.

BEST: Star Wars: The Force Awakens
This long awaited installment managed to delight both die hard fans and people new to the Star Wars Universe. Small moments of humor are mixed in with fascinating action sequences and complex character portrayals, while old favorites make fascinating reappearances.

WORST: Terminator Genisys

This sequel is blatantly just an attempt at cashing in on the success of the previous films. The movie is so full of illogical events, inconsistencies, and clumsy plot elements that even dedicated fans hate it.

BEST Mad Max: Fury Road
This return to the post apocalyptic world of Max Max met with praise from both critics and audiences. The enthralling action sequences, gorgeous cinematography, and thought-provoking plot were enough to easily put it into the top movies of the year, and both Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron did a wonderful job portraying their characters.

WORST: Fifty Shades of Grey
No list of the worst movies in 2015 would be complete without the movie adaption of the critically-panned book. The wooden acting, serial killer-esque overtones, and implausible plot all combine to make it an unpleasant viewing experience. Without the X-rated scenes that made the book so popular, the movie is utterly pointless.

BEST: Selma
This movie takes a critical look at the life and death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. David Oyelowo gives a mesmerizing performance, and the movie provides an insightful glimpse of some of the most important parts of the fight for civil rights.

WORST: Hot Tub Time Machine
Sadly, this movie continues the trend of sequels being horrible. The plot is so bad and the humor is so juvenile that the star from the first one, John Cusack, declined to be in it. He definitely made the right choice.

BEST: The Big Short
Adam McKay is best known for goofy comedies, but The Big Short manages to combine his comedic flare with a serious subject to create a movie that takes a fascinating look at the economic downturn of 2008. The star-packed cast (including Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, and Steve Carell) repeatedly break the fourth wall to explain complex banking terms humorously while simultaneously deliver tense, emotion-filled performances.
